About Barbara

Barbara has been a working model for over ten years. She works with the Wilhelmina Agency in New York and the Heffner Agency in Seattle and many other agencies around the world. Discovered by Bill Heffner, Barbara started her career in Seattle, and has moved on to the New York and international commercial print, national television and runway markets. Working with major corporations such as Eddie Bauer, Nordstrom, Lands End, and Elena Miro, Barbara is a catalyst in the dynamic industry of plus-sized modeling.

Barbara has helped make many positive changes in the industry with her appearances in Mode magazine, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. SHe has been a regular guest on Seattle's Northwest Afternoon. In these venues, Barbara has discussed the issues of being "plus" in today's society. An advocate of healthy living, Barbara uses her degree in communications from Washington State University to discuss the issues of body image and her role as a model to help break unhealthy thinking about the ultra thin images, which dominate the media today.

Barbara's future plans include developing a plus size clothing line, becoming a country music artist, and working for charitable and community projects.
