About Breanna

Obsessed from the age of 4 with such hits as Labyrinth and Alice in Wonderland, Breanna Startzel aspired to entertain. The characters from those productions became her imaginary friends, and they filled her with a magical awe which would become a part of her core personality. She directed a tendency towards energy restrained, and a need for attention, to the art of acting.

Growing up on the stage, Breanna began performing in community theater and studied dance throughout her adolescence. She has a passion for constantly evolving in this pursuit, and acquiring the skills to stretch herself as an artist. At age 19, Breanna knew if she wanted recognition in her field she'd have to broaden her horizons. As much as she loved the clean air and beautiful scenery of her hometown outside Seattle, Washington, she packed up and headed for Los Angeles.

Within three short years, she began to make her dreams a reality and garnered numerous credits to her name, including the lead in two feature films. A highlight in Breanna's career was recently being directed by the legendary character actor, Gary Oldman, working one on one with him for a Nokia promotion set to be released this spring in Europe. Breanna was able to watch herself on the big screen in Analog Days, a film chosen for the 2006 L.A. Film Festival, and highly recognized in numerous other festivals around the globe. She had a supporting role in Voodoo Curse: The Giddeh, written and directed by veteran actor Glenn Plummer. Also, this summer, she had the opportunity to work with Mad TV's Bryan Callen, for his pilot Workout Party, giving her a chance to show off an amazing innate comedic timing.

This past Fall, Breanna went back to her roots, and was found fighting off the afflicted in Theatre East's Halloween production of, They're Not Zombies. She played a lovable, but not so bright, exotic dancer. The audience loved the lightness and humor she brought to the role in this comic, yet equally scary, production. This 5'1," blue-eyed starlet is well into the spearhead of her journey. After the holidays, she is diving into the role of "Heather," in the thriller feature film, Monkeyman 935, expected to be released late 2007. Breanna plans to continue with her training at the famous Beverly Hills Playhouse, and return to The Groundlings, one of her favorite schools.

She says she chooses her path carefully, steering toward a career high above mediocre. She views acting as a lifetime challenge. She wants to be more than a flash in the pan, with a goal to be an "artistic killer" with every part she plays.
