Kayla Kayla, daughter of Becky and Jimmy LoCicero, was born on June 11, 1988. She is the middle child in a family of three girls. She is a role model to her younger sister Kelsey, and she idolizes and respects her older sister Kristen. Kayla has come to realize that her older sister’s shoes may be tough to fill, but she will fill them in her unique way… with her voice. Through the power of her voice, she has brought tears to many eyes and joy to many hearts. On August 13, 2005, Kayla performed her first solo performance in front of hundreds of people at a talent search in Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee. Not only did she gain rave revues from the judges, but she also stole the heart of the crowd. She had recorded her first demo only one day prior to her performance. Jim Allison, producer of her demo was astonished by the power and versatility in the voice of such a young singer, and by her unique personality. At this point, Kayla was only five short weeks into tuning her voice through the help of a vocal coach. She had just begun to tap into her potential. It was even more amazing to her friends and family as they watched their shy and mild Kayla blossom and take the stage fearlessly and with extreme amounts of confidence. She showed talent that is rare at such a young age. Kayla’s single, “The Christmas Letter”, was released at the end of November. This song was written by Scott Innes from WYNK in Baton Rouge (also known as the voice of Scooby Doo) and Nelson Blanchard. Scott’s song, “The Christmas Letter” is based on a true story in his life. "The Christmas Letter" was a huge success during the 2005 Christmas season for the locals in the Hammond/Baton Rouge area. Kayla released her first album, Beautiful World, at the end of January 2006.
