About Lyric

Lyric Jones was born in the Washington, DC area on August 26, 1979.  At age 2 she began to show her love of performing by mimicking the dance moves she saw on Soul Train. Her mother also noticed her interest for playing the piano.  Instinctively, her parents enrolled her in a dance school where she began her training in ballet, tap, modern, and later on, liturgical.  She also began her training on various instruments including the piano, flute, hand-bell and viola. Lyric got her first big break while performing on stage at the White House in 1986.  A that time, she was the youngest member of “Say Thanks America” a group of talented youngsters devoted to promoting love and respect for the country through song and dance. Her childhood agent, Linda Loveys, approached her mother and requested that Lyric be a talent of hers. A contract was signed and by the time she had turned 7, Lyric had already scored some rather impressive roles.  By age 9 she was SAG eligible.

Lyric continued to perform right into her adult life.  In high school and college she was a member of the pom squad and marching band dance team respectively.  She continued with her acting by performing in local theaters.

In 2005, Lyric relocated to the Los Angeles area.  Now working with one of the most prestigious agencies in the area, she is set and ready to make her mark permanent on the industry.

Some of her credits include:

The Accidental Tourist (movie) -1986
A Man Called Hawk (television) – CBS Primetime Series
And most recently, As the World Turns.

Lyric also takes on roles that include voice over and print model work.

In her spare time she enjoys teaching dance to children at various recreation centers and spending time with her family.  Her hobbies include shopping, swimming, visiting theme parks and anything having to do with Disney.
