About Raquel

Singer Raquel Aurilia has always had a passion for music. The Phoenix resident grew up listening to Bette Midler, Billy Joel and Elton John, and today counts Avril Lavigne and Eminem among her favorites. While earning a Master of Education degree at Arizona State University, and working in printwork modeling, Raquel pursued her passion and nurtured her talent. Now she is living out her dream with the re-release of her debut CD "Finding My Way."

Produced by two-time Grammy winner Tony Papa (Survivor, James Brown, Weird Al Yankovic), the CD features ten well-crafted pop songs with a rock edge. It features four new songs including the two popular re-makes, "Dreamweaver" and "For What it's Worth," which have a contemporary, yet familiar sound. The first single, "Feels Like", recently spent 4 weeks in the top 10 of the ACQB (Adult Contemporary Quarterback) charts reaching #6 on January 25, 2005. It has also been featured on the "Top Hits U.S.A.," "Pop Express" and "Oasis Pop Volume 3" CD compilations, featuring some of today's hottest talents. The next single, "The Need" with its incredibly strong lyrics will surely touch your soul.

Raquel, (married to baseball star Rich Aurilia, and mother to their two children) is also involved in important charitable causes. She has personally raised over $25,000 for the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation by running the New York City and Honolulu Marathons. Since the debut of her CD she has stayed committed to helping local charities through her music, raising money for Sickle Cell Council of New Mexico, Inc., Ronald McDonald House of New Mexico, Nana's Children of Arizona, and the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation.
